QUESTIONS?
-
Where should I stay?
Please select from one of our accommodation options on the Plan Your Trip page. Shuttle transportation to and from all events will service these hotels only and access will be by shuttle only.
-
How do I get to Walloon Lake?
On the Plan Your Trip page we detail a range of possible itineraries to get you to the lake. Traverse City (70 mins), Pellston (40 mins) and Detroit (4 hrs) are the closest airports. We recommend hiring a car to drive from the airport to the lake. Alternatively you could arrange a shuttle - need help arranging or looking for people to team up with? Let us know!
-
Can I drive to the events? Is there parking?
No. We will provide shuttle transportation to and from each event and we ask that all guests make use of this. There will be no access to The Challoon by car or boat. If you require special accommodations please let us know!
-
Can my kids come?
We consider your kids our family too, and are thrilled to have them join us for the weekend. Kids are more than welcome to join us for the The Welcome on Friday evening. The Wedding on Saturday evening is a grown up affair, and we are happy to help facilitate childcare. The Recovery on Sunday will be a time for the kids to make the most of the lake with swimming, sandcastles and Petoskey stone hunting!
-
What is Black Tie attire?
Black Tie is reserved the most formal and glamorous of occasions. For men this means tuxedos and for ladies floor length formal gowns. This is your chance to be bold and express your personal style - think The Oscars, Met Gala, Logies or Brownlow Medal.
-
What about my shoes?
Much of Saturday evening will be on grass so consider a block heel.
-
What is The Recovery?
The Recovery is an Australian tradition, the day after to relive all the fun of the night before. This will be your chance to really soak in Michigan lake life with more food, drinks and lake activities - bring your swimsuit/bathers/togs/cozzies!
-
I'm planning to leave Sunday morning, will I get FOMO?
Yes you will! Consider extending your trip until Monday or departing after The Recovery on Sunday night. You won’t want to miss experiencing the magic of an afternoon by the lake.

When do I need to RSVP?
We would love to know if you are planning to attend as soon as you know! We understand that many of our guests will be traveling exceptionally far and that takes time to confirm. We ask if you could RSVP by no later than March 1, 2026.
